ATT. Landmark Owners

In Nov 2015 I purchased a 2006 Landmark . People I bought from were real nice and pleasant and assured me that it is well maintained and taken care of .I towed it 50 mi. to my home where it sat under the rv. port until I can fine tune it to my 3500 ram. Just go started & Discovering that I had to do an Axle flip because of the hight of the Ram I found the breaks and a few other things were in need of repair. As I Unbolted the spring U bolts I noticed both front and back the spring hangers bent in on the right side and bent out on the left side. Then I almost had a hart attack when I seen the three cracks in the frame on each side above each spring hanger . I don't mind repairs that are normal wear & tear , but this is a bit too much to swallow .Anyone have ideas for repairs on this. Purchased disc break changeover kit before I noticed the cracks in the lower part of the frame. Is this a common problem or did I Just get Hosed big time by buying a $30k piece of good looking junk . Any advice is appreciated . Thank's Hal

Cracked frames are not uncommon. I found a spring hanger separating from the frame on my 2013 trailer about 1 1/2 years into ownership. The frame on my trailer (like most Rv trailer frames) was made by Lippert. I judged the causes for my trouble to be light weight low cost material (china metal ) and poor welding (too hot, undercut). Most RV repair dealers have seen this enough that they know how to repair and re-enforce the trailer.

You have a 10 year old unit. You could contact Lippert, the manufacturer of the frame to get advice or simply take it to a welding shop and have it fixed.

I think that shackle box would benefit from being boxed in to relieve the stress where it's welded to the frame

Weld some gussets . You can get crossbars from Moryde to put on spring shakle ends . Get a Moryde 4000 suspension and shackles from them google it up

Most frame and suspension repairs will be easy for a good welding shop.

To cummins 12V98 Wasn't born yesterday . Of course I looked over the whole rig. I couldn't see the cracks in the I beam . Untill I pulled the wheels off. So far I welded a 6 x3 " x 6 Foot Angle Iron on both sides to reinforce the frame. Still waiting for the disc break changeover parts and new rubber mounts from Mor Ryd to get here.. Thank's , all Info is Appreciated Hal
