Atwood propane detector alarming

I was having an issue with Atwood propane gas alarm last few days. This unit is less than two years old. It seems right about lunch time it would trigger every day and at no other time. I have a good portable detector I use to check for gas leaks and it showed nothing and there was no smell of propane at all.

Any ideas what was happening? I've already replaced the detector with a new one, not going to mess around.

I understand that other gases may trigger these alarms. Perhaps my dog's methane production at that time of day??? She was sitting near by the alarm.

We no longer allow our dog to sleep with his hind end next to the propane detector.
Took us a while to figure it out.
His farts were setting it off in the middle of the night.

Is the alarm constant BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP
or is it Chirp.................chirp....................chi rp
or Beep Beep Beep Beep.

We call it a "propane detector" as does Atwood. but in reality it is an explosive gas detector

Propane
Alcohol
Gasoline
Methan
Butane
And a host of other gasses can be detected.

Sometimes they are faulty and need replaced. Also they have a 5 year lifespan so check the actual date on the unit. Even if your RV is younger than that the detector may not be.

Try contacting the manufacturer of the unit, several people here have gotten them replaced free of charge by doing so.

The mfg date on mine is 04/2015, so its about three years old. I installed it 02/2016.

No alarm problems now after I replaced the troubling unit. But I will contact Atwood to see if they will send me a replacement.
