Were those vendors selling auto retract awnings? Definitely a bad idea for auto retract types.

I suspect that folks who attache sun shades and other stuff to their awning would prefer to use the bracket and pole hold down system. So far, I haven't seen a post from anyone using them who reported an issue. I know one guy who camps in the west who reports uses the system in 40+/- mph winds.

id brought the awning in long before weather got there. stirm like that got to know its coming. maybe im just very weather aware
