How many folks leave their awnings out all time or leave them stowed?

As full timing, we only put out our FW awning when it rains or if we want to block direct sun light on a hot day. Probably ave 1 day a week.

We only leave ours out when we are in the area. We also put it in at night

We never leave ours deployed if we're not there with it. It only takes one good gust to rip an awning off. A sudden rain can pool and rip it or even buckle the roller - yes it happened to ours.

We use it just about every time were camping. Like said above it blocks the sun, and we camp a lot at the ocean, so it keeps the dew off are out door stuff. Also my wife can't be exposed to direct sunlight so we use it for that. We have solar on our 5ver so we pretty much are always parked in the sun.

I've seen to many ripped out or torn, bent arms. if I'm not home, it's rolled up.

We put ours out on a as needed basis. Except windy rainy days.
We always retract ours if we are going to be gone for awhile.....brother in law learned this lesson the hard way. While he was gone, a huge wind and thunderstorm cropped up, ripped the brackets out of the rv, and pushed the awning up and over the top of the fifth wheel. $$$ to replace everything and repair the roof.

I stow it at night and if we leave. I was awakened one night to a surprise storm and it was all catywompered but wasn't damaged. I considered that my mulligan and won't leave it deployed again.

We have had it open maybe 4 times and one time was to rebed the brackets in butyl tape, a rainy day project while camping. 
We select sites so that side is out of the sun. The rig makes a good sunblock. We also camp in the trees usually.
Ive watched others park, deploy the awning and hang all kinds of things on it and leave it out.
One time the rangers were coming around to make sure people on the lake battened down because a storm was rolling in. The people in front of us told us they were going to be gone a few days. We helped the ranger take down their awning so we wouldn’t be extraxting it from our coach. Too bad they left their slides out, they got pretty beat up. We put our slides in and weathered the storm. It was a long and noisy night. Sounded like being in a car wash. Lol

I've had two blown off.
When we're out of the campground we never leave it deployed.

One of my chores when setting is to deploy the awning, set up recliners -table and have it done before she comes out with our adult beverage so we can toast being where ever we are.
It stays out until bedtime.........then goes back out come morning IF we are staying around 5vr
Otherwise I retract it any time we leave the rig.
So It may get extended/retracted couple times or more each day
We enjoy sitting out under it...rain or shine
Especially when it is stormy, lighting, thundering---raining
YEP...we like our awning

We get little use out of ours. Seems wind always blowing near costal areas.

We deploy ours when we first set up and leave it out until we break camp to leave. Of course we have awning tie down poles and straps to hold it down from winds, etc., we leave our chairs, etc out all the time also.

In 8 years of full timing the awning has only been out 10 - 12 times
