Looking at a Bighorn 3375SS, Would welcome any an all feedback on this model or the Bighorns in general. How do you think it compares to the Montana?
Thanks Wayne

I looked at some during the Tampa super show and they seemed to be built well. If I recall they said they use screws for everything insofar staples. They also includes shocks on the axles as a standard feature.

there are many labeled full time. or 4 season. dont get caught in advertising campaign. there are only a few true full time rigs

There is an active true 4 season thread going. Look there for the real list.

As far as placement, equal to a Montana.
Just a different label is all.

Both owned by Thor, built in Elkhart Ind using the same parts.

Have a 2017 Bighorn 3010 RE. New to us in September this year. Made a couple short trips in it. Just right for the two of us as a vacation rig. Overall well made compared to others we have had.

Happy with the shower, large hot water tank, and porcelain pot. Like the heavy duty frame too.

Wife is happy with the double size refrigerator, kitchen storage, and solid counter tops.

Getting used to the weight 15,500 Gross. Overall no complaints.

On second one...

and pretty happy with fit/finish. First was used 2009 3055RL, second a new 2015 3875FB. I have never owned a Montana, however we looked hard at them prior to buying the 2015. I liked the finish on the Bighorns better than the Montana, but thats just my opinion.

I did have to send the Bioghorn back to the factory twice for exterior delamination issues, which the factory took care of both times with no cost to me.

I went from a 2004 Montana that was built very well with nice hard wood through out, to a 2018 Big Country made by Heartland. They do have a nice 12 inch frame. It's hard to find information about Heartland they have their own Forum but it's not very busy like the Keystone and Montana forums.

That's because us Heartlander's are all out enjoying our rigs, while others are just talking about it...LOL

I like that!!!!!

But seriously anything that comes out of Elkhart Ind carries the same risk and quality woes.
The manufacturers don't actually build these units, they assemble them.
Lippert builds these parts, Dometic builds those parts, Carefree these and so on.
The manufacturers only warranty the assemblies, not the rest. Frame cracks. Lipperts problem and so on.
So afraid of this, buy a independent manufactures rig. There a quite a few out there.
The only thing forums show you, well is basically someone opinion on something. There facts/opinions are based upon their luck with something. And people with no problems don't make up a large percentage of posters!

The Big Horn is Heartland's middle line, full size fifth wheel trailer.

When Heartland went into business, they were very customer oriented--kind of like Grand Design is today. Sales of their products increased fast, and they were doing well. Then Thor came in and offered their owners more money than they could refuse. Grand Design was the same way when Winnebego bought them.

I understand Heartland's quality has slipped a little, but they're still a good unit for the money spent. And they as a company are not nearly as customer friendly as they once were.
