CHARGER problems

just got old ceder creek out of storage, installed battery and all seemed fine. plugged in to keep battery up, but when i came back to it later that day, battery is completely dead ? when i am plugged in the on board charger would normally keep the battery up even it some things were on ??? it acts like the on board charger/inverter is not charging the battery, any suggestions ? i am going to try to track down the power coming from the charger, but not sure if i do locate it what the voltage should be coming out ? thanks for your input ! another thing to note, i connected my portable charge to the battery while it was still installed in rv and the light that indicates if it is charging or charged did not come on?? never had that happen, so i removed the battery and connected it to the charger and the light came on and it started charging as normal ?

Did you install the battery backwards?

Did you get any sparks when you connected it?

What is the voltage on the battery. If it was flat it could have blown the fuses in the charger. No big deal usually.

What is the state of charge of your battery? If very low, you would have issues. Need to test voltage (at least 12.8V) If wet cell does it have water above the plates? What is the specific gravity if wet cell?

so here is what happened. several years ago i removed battery and connected to an external solar charged battery bank. did not remember making this change, but what i had done is disconnected the inverter/charger. i really was drawing a blank on it , so i took the charger to my local rv tech, he instantly realized my error. all good now. thanks everyone for your great input.

Thanks for letting us know the cause.....always helps when others share their results of repairs. Put the info in the databank.
