Columbia Gorge

Going east on I-84 in my motorhome. On the westbound side was a 5th wheel on the side of the road with the driver trying to push insulation back in where the siding had ripped off. Looked like bad delamination and the siding just gave up. I hope he made it off the freeway and can get it fixed.

How bad was the wind? Going 65 against a 30 mph headwind might have been too much for the siding. Today's monster trucks allow that kind of performance. I'm sometimes glad my truck can't simulate 95 MPH! Hope he made out OK and had gorilla tape instead of regular duct tape.

I don't think the wind was too bad but I know what you mean. I took my Dutch Star to Nappanee some years back and coming home (westbound) I was fighting that wind and getting 3 mpg.

I live close to the Columbia River Gorge and drive it often.... there are often gusts to 45-60 mph that come at an angle to the direction of travel... In our motorhome it often tries to blow us across the lane.... on really bad days I just drive slower...
Maybe that's why wind surfing around Hood River is popular most of the year.... that weather permits..
