Deleting A/C from CCC2

I installed a mini split and so I removed zone 1 ac unit. Zone 3 will work if the 2 rj45 connectors on the ac i am removing are plugged in. If I unplug either of these the other ac shuts off and the thermostat goes dead. I don't understand how to get the remaining ac to work. I've tried connecting the 2 rj45 connectors together. Still no go. I don't understand where power to the thermostat is coming from. As all of the ac and 12 v power has been cut from the ac unit. But I still have to plug the 2 rj45 connectors into it to keep the remaining ac working. Help

Out of my league. But for those with knowledge it would help to know what you are working on. Year, make and model for starters

The AC you removed probably supplies the 12V to the thermostat. hence it was plugged into the board and worked.

The rear AC is a slave to the first and recieves a signal.from the front one via a phone cable type cord. They run the 12 volt etc through the data cable. its how mine was. to put them on a seperate thermostat i had to run dedicated and fused power to the thermostat.

Look for the dip switches in the remaining AC and change it to be the primary.

So I had to cut one of the 4 wire phone line and reverse the wires. The first cable I made obviously didn't work which threw me off. After going back over everything I made a new cable connected the existing cables together and it worked.
