In my lifetime I've used cases of brake clean , it will clean fiberglass without damage, I most times moisten rags rather than spraying directly on the surface. Some will tell you fumes will kill you, so use in a ventilated area, I'm 83 and still going strong. Also use it in our laundry room on grease base stains on my clothes prior to washing. Great stuff. Always test on a sample piece or location, it will dissolve some products.

Brake cleaner will dissolve a lot of things...
Once while doing some testing (work) at a city bus garage, they sprayed the engine to clean an area with lots of the stuff. Suddenly the floor felt slippery...it was melting the soles on my shoes!
I have an aluminum roof, so not worried about damaging with liquids, but after removing as much of silicone sealant as possible, I used acetone to clean the surface and it removed the silicone sealant residue very well.
Three years later and it's holding like the day I applied it.

As an insurance adjuster I have dealt with most of the dealer/repair shops in the area. You do get a feel for who is good and who is not. I personally use a local father/son/wife shop as my customers are always happy with them. On my new to me Winnebago, I inspected the roof and called him about some issues. He noted that he sees more improperly sealed roof than properly sealed roofs. He says each manufacture has their own process. On my Winnebago, they use pure silicone. There is a sat antenna and all the calking was cracked an peeling. It's Dicor. Not to be used on a Winnie. He uses GeoCell. Same as Winnebago. He says put the same thing on it was built with, and you won't have problems. Eternabond is used for mounting stuff as it has high strength. He says it has to be sealed around AFTER the eternabond cures.
