What are the odds that the fuel stations will up the point where the pump automatically shuts off? It seems like most I’ve been to in the past shut off around $100. Having to insert the credit card a second time ruins my system of avoiding looking at the pump. ☹️

Drive or stay put, everything we consume from cereal to bedding is delivered by truck and/or ships. Time to brace ourselves for another wave of increasing prices on pretty much everything.
Where's it going? Up in Canada diesel fuel is running about $1.90/liter. Four liters is pretty close to a U.S. gallon, so it's starting to close in on $8/gallon. You can say that it's just those tiny Canadian dollars, but that's what Canadians earn and spend. Even at $5/gallon down here, we've still got it pretty good compared to most. We are fortunate enough that we won't have to modify our plans too much. Our bucket of time on the planet is likely going to run out before our money bucket does.
Interesting times...

I remember paying $5.25 a gallon in August 2008.
Went up to Bar Harbor, the campgrounds were empty
The only RVs we saw were from, MA, CT, NY, PA, NH, VT.
Just wait till all the new Rvers pay $6-700 to fill their Diesel RV.
I’m used to it, 22 yrs of ups and downs in the RVing community

We have plans to leave Arizona and bounce our way to Michigan, New York, over to Maine and then to Florida and back to Arizona between May and December. Our friends that were going with us backed out yesterday but so far we still plan to go. We opted for some of the best RV parks we could find along the way so that won't be cheap either LOL!! I'm hoping that a lot of people decide to stay home and maybe our experience will be less crowded which has some value. Now it prices hit $7 I'm not sure the value will still seem as good a deal.

We have a plan (A) in place that takes us from Florida all the way up to northern Maine, across to Vermont through Niagara into Toronto then back home. Slated to take about a month. We also have another plan (B) that is a shorter trip up to northern NC. and back for two weeks. Both are complete with reservations set. I'll let plan A simmer until we see where the cost ends up closer to the summer. If it gets crazy expensive I'll put plan A on ice till next year. At some point the cost outweigh's the benefit.

I was just thinking about how much I spent on diesel in calendar year 2021 & how far we travelled vs how much we'll spend this year & how far we'll travel. In 2021 we spent $2400 on diesel & were in the Arizona desert in January. We went to Alabama in April, Florida & South Carolina in May, Michigan for the summer, Alabama for the fall & Florida for December. This year, we have to leave Alabama in May to pick up a new, triple slide truck camper in Arizona in May, then wander back to Michigan for the summer. We tentatively plan to visit New England for the fall color, then South Carolina, Smokey Mountains, Alabama & then Florida for the holidays. But extreme diesel prices may alter that. I'm estimating my fuel cost will be 50-75% higher in '22. I'm cutting some cost by travelling this year in a 6K lb truck camper instead of towing an 18K lb 5th wheel. I'm curious where others went in '21 & how much they spent on fuel vs their travel plans & expected fuel expense in '22

We will be going to Glacier N.P. instead of S. Dakota this year because Glacier is just a little bit closer to San Diego. I'm hoping that others will decide to stay home and that the campgrounds will be less crowded. So far that is coming true. We were able to book a great RV park in the Glacier area on short notice.
I'm 71 and have been through a few of these rodeos. Remember the gas lines of the early 70's? It seems like these situations are usually "contrived".

Oil has dropped back below $100 a barrel. It’ll be interesting to see how much gouging the oil companies try to get away with. They sure raised gas/diesel prices in a hurry. I’m sure we’ll be hearing the “summer blend” excuse any day now.

fuel
If you can go through a Murphy or Walmart fuel station, walk in the store and get a gift card for $200.00
The pump will run till the card is used. don't ask me how I know, LOL
