Does this estimate sound about right

Hi,

On tuesday i am dropping of the unit (27 ft) at the dealer to get some work done.

1 x install slideout awning
1 x removing the underbelly and wrapping all the pipes in insulation.
1 x adding heater pads to all three tanks.
1 x gluing a extra layer of insulation on the inside of the underbelly material before they reinstall it on the unit.

From what i understand so far this estimate is for parts and labor. They have quoted me $1000.00

The reason i am getting this done now is because i dont want to worry about it later and i dont want to risk any freezing issues. Just flip a switch when it gets cold and im done.

If they truly do all the work as described, probably a good price--awning itself is prob $250.
The way most shops these days operate, I would double check for the pipe wrap and underbelly insulation.

Price seems reasonable. But why add the bottom insulation? Unless it wraps up the sides of the main frame rails all the way to the underside of the floor, it really offers no benefit. The steel frame is a huge surface area conduction heat out of the underbelly and may have holes in it as well for slide out hardware, etc. Insulation only works if it is continuous, no gaps, no air leaks.

Now that you say that i might not have that part done, i was hoping that adding that extra insulation to the very bottom would help with keeping things a tad bit warmer but if there is no benefit then i wont get it done.

Funny how the dealership didnt ask me why... maybe they need the work
