Teflon Plate

Did NOT mean to infer grease on the Teflon plate -- that is what the plate is for -- not to have to use grease on the mating surfaces of the hitch and pin box.

I lube the hitch with the zerk provided plus the other moving parts and all metal to metal contact points with white lithium grease. My hitch has several contact points to lubricate since it articulates both forward and back as well as from side to side.

B&W Companion and 5th Airborne, never hear anything, smooth as silk. I have to look behind me now and then to make sure I remembered to hook up. I bought the Companion used 5 years ago and used it on our first 5th wheel with Mor-Ryde box and now our bigger, heavier Arctic Fox 29 5T. I am sold on B&W, excellent American made product and excellent customer service!

Some noise mostly on turns but wondering if it's normal.

My old '97 16k Reese manual slider is super quiet....when I do the driving and shifting.
But you otta' hear it clang and bang when the wife does the shifting with the NV5600 6 speed manual behind the Cummins.
On all the upshifts she lets the engine idle and then dumps the clutch...then romps the go pedal.
All I can say Dodge must have put some big U joints behind the NV5600 tranny.

I'm still blown away by the picture 12V posted. What a terrible experience that would be.

B&W Patriot, Teflon pad, MorRyde pin and I use reg wheel bearing grease for the pin. I also put some pieces of inner tube under the 5th hitch where it comes in contact with the bed rails. Zero noise.

I have a Reese 20K fifth wheel with a Reese Sidewinder. I get a little clunking when starting and a bit of creaking when turning and backing up. Having driven transport for a number of years the noises aren't at all alarming, just normal.
