Dometic 310 gravity flush toilet

Hi ... I live in a Sundance ( Heartland ) 5th wheeler in NZ. It is 5 yrs old and has a Dometic 310 series gravity flush toilet. The spring on the foot pedal has failed. The foot pedal instructions advise that the pedal should not be detached from the toilet but I can see no other way to look at and repair the spring. Is there anyone out there with experience that can advise please. Thanks. Pete

Dometic 310/320 toilets have very FEW replacement parts.....toilet seat, bowl seal, water supply cartridge and vacuum breaker.

There is a 'cap' that just snaps into side of pedal assembly but no parts (no spring, pedal etc)

Best to replace with a different toilet

I think that toilet has a cartridge that snaps into the rear of the pedal. There are 2 tabs to depress and it should come out in one piece. Now the cartridge will cost you $50. Another thing to consider is the inlet on the cartridge is cheap and of thin plastic. If it freezes just a little it will split...yeah ask me how bad it will flood your bathroom. Talked to the Dometic factory guy at Quartzite and he showed me that they knew it was a problem and how the new toilets are made with a higher PSI strength to fix that problem. We put that $50 towards a new toilet....

PS....DO NOT REMOVE THE PEDAL.....you will spend an afternoon getting it to go back together...I was luck to get it back together..lol lol
