Don't like the Montana trailers?

Someone mentioned here that they don't like the Montana 5th wheel trailers.
Seems that most of the dealers here sell that brand primarily.

What problems are you guys aware of with that brand?

Thanks,
Dave

From looking around at the RV parks we go to, some of the older (3-4 years?) models have really crummy decals. My buddy gave up and removed all the decals on his. He still likes it a lot overall.

Have read that Montana is the largest selling single model/name---seems to follow that you will hear more about them, either good or bad.

Nothing wrong with Montana. They are really no better or worse than other brands. If you like the floorplan, buy it!

We have a Montana High Country - their light (kinda @ 12K pounds??) weight version and it has been just fine. Sure, it has some places that could have been better like any other brand but really no problems to speak of in just over a year. The nose cap decals were replaced when it was painted due to fade, and covered by Keystone. It has everything we wanted.

Kinda' like some one says they don't like a Ford truck. Its simply that persons opinion.

From what I've seen (and have been looking a lot this summer!), I'd give the Montana's a thumbs up for value. There are better fifth wheels and there are worse... but the price point for what you get is pretty good. Which explains the best sales numbers.

Staying in the full time parks people either love them or hate them. We thought about one in 2005 but upon closer inspection they did not meet our quality standards. They look nice but start digging below the skin and not so much! All just my observations and opinion!

I looked at the Montana. I liked it better than my SunnyBrook.

I would say the Montana ranks with the other top of the line mass produced rigs. They advertise good insulation. I know you can get full body paint which would solve the issue with faded decals.

We have a 2012 Montana Mountaineer. Water heater not working on electricity right out of the gate. Repaired three times, only use gas now. Roughest ride in captivity.
I have installed better Mor Ryde equa flex, shocks and an after market pin box to smooth out the ride. Over all, piss poor, would not buy another Montana.

This is exactly the same problems we had with ours, right down to the water heater. I traded that thing in, as fast as I could, and got our Landmark, and never looked back. I know a few people who swear by them though. Maybe we got a lemon.

WOW - a hot water heater built by an outside supplier and installed by an RV manufacturer craps out and a reason to hate a particular product line --[moderator edit]
