We decided to loose less money now rather than putting money into a money pit and never have a quality RV. We hope to be in our new NH in November.
The NH being built just ahead or ours is purchased by someone who owned their DRV for 10 months. I don’t know the details of their DRV experience that caused a short term DRV ownership.

Be nice if you could give us more specifics on the problems.
I'm looking for a used DRV.

If DRV bought it back I don't think much else needs to be said.

I don't think DRV bought it back, it was the dealer. It would be nice to know what happened after that and who the dealer was.

Someone earlier this year I believe was from Oregon tried taking a new unit back, had many written issues and drv would not take it back. That whole thread was deleted. If your going to buy a rig new or custom built you need to do complete p.d.i..We custom ordered a d.r.v. last year and spent 5 days on p.d.i..After my punch list was addressed I paid.

Here are a few of the major issues; Roof plywood seams separating, rubber roof has bubbles, kitchen drain connection spliced with duct tank, Anderson valve Kantleak leaked overflowing fresh tank while set to city water, black tank hung suspended by edge of tank hanging over electrical components without support of any kind for bottom, water run out at bottom of nose cap, slide corner tops bending, gaps at bottom corners of slides, many outside molding screws loosening, put in at angles or missing, holding tank level readings in accurate, bulges at ends of inside wall of bedroom slide that continued to get worse, knife cuts on slide seals, top corners of slides already cut an torn, multiple outside trim not fastened tight and not caulked, window valance coming loose, CO2 detector would not shut off. The issues with outside trim, screws and lack of caulking is it allowed water in the holes before we received the unit obviously the beginning of water damage and mold. Dealer was Rolling Retreats, don’t know what they did when they received it

Sounds like you did get a lemon for sure. With all the reviews I have read about DRV's you are the exception not the rule.
I'm still looking for a used one. 2010 in Utah 500+ miles away. 2008 in Arizona 150 miles away. Both with the floor plan we like.

Prior to 2012 DRV would be okay. Prior to Thor buying them.

There're a couple of 2012 within 80 miles of me for sale. They are the model we're looking for. Are 10 grand higher then my budget though.
Retiring come the end of May next year (good Lord willing).
Budget is a important part.

Yeah those DRV made prior to thor seem to be gaining value on the used RV market. I guess the word has gotten out on that particular part.

I hope NH can honor your build date.Thats one reason I didn't order from them last year. They were taking orders and not keeping delivery promises.

My impression is that DRV is a fairly high end, high priced and high quality RV, relatively speaking. It's interesting to observe that those who reject them (for quality issues), climb even higher to NH. Is there anywhere to go after that?

We are another couple that looked at a few lines and narrowed our choices to DRV and New Horizon. After much research and reading about issues that started popping up after Thor took over DRV we chose New Horizon. I'm sure it's won't be perfect but we have looked the owners of the company in the eyes and know who we are dealing with. We can't say that about Thor.
