Hi, I am in the process of repairing dryrot andnow need to reglue my rubber roof to the plywood top of the trailer. My local rv supply houses do not stock the water bsed adhesive. Is there a product I can use that can be had at the local hardware store.

Thanks

I think if it were me, I'd order some of the Dicor adhesive, since it is probably a Dicor roof...

Contact cement. If it is a small area, you can buy it in a spray can making it real easy to use.

Most spray cans of contact cement are petro based and a big NO NO on rubber roofs. Get the Dicor stuff.

I passed on the glued down as the area is les than 1'x1.5'

This is our first trailer. It is a 17' prowler. We are going to test the rv way of campimg. (The wife needs a bathroom and solid walls)

Welcome to the irv2.com family Lowell! For more information about your roof covering material visit: Dicor.com. This is their roof treatment and care page, but it has links to all their website.

You are exactly right - - I should have prefaced my statement with the information to be sure and look for the spray on that HAS NO petro base - - it is available and is very convenient. I carry a can at all times along with a regular can of contact for larger repairs should it be needed. I also carry a nice size piece of EPDM. Never know when one of them nasty trees will jump out and snare your roof.
