Experience with Victon Battery Protect

I have been thinking about adding a Victon Energy Battery Protect 12/14 unit to my 5th's 12 volt system. I was wondering who had used this or a similar device there opinions?

Are you going to install this to prevent discharge of your tow vehicle batteries when you camp... or is this to be used to prevent deep discharge of your coach batteries...

I personally use deep discharge 6 volt golf cart batteries to support my RV... above the test switch I mounted a small digital volt meter and a chart that relates to static battery voltage and state of charge...

With this simple information I monitor my batteries when we're out and will start the gen set when the batteries are low... often in the a.m. my wife wishes to use the microwave, blow drier and curling iron... I don't have the battery capacity or an inverter large enough for these loads... so I start the gen set..

With what I've shared above I can't see where the Victon Unit would benefit me... so I'd guess I'd pass on it..

My thought is to use it to protect the house batteries as the TV would unplugged from the RV. These units can be set to disconnect the batteries as a preset voltage, say 12.0. I have a Trimetric battery monitor, but that does not prevent excessive drawn down at night or when away.
