Fantastic Fan

This fan has got me ALL confused! Last year the motor kept running to the point it stripped the plastic gears. Bought a new motor assembly hoping this would fix the issue. It did not. Bought a new thermostat/switch thinking maybe one of the buttons was stuck. This didn't fix it either. In fact the motor would still run with no switch plugged in. Not sure how that is... I would have thought that would break the circuit. What am I missing?

The control board is what all of the buttons are on correct? The motor ran without this plugged in.

Is your thermostat/remote wireless? If it is then there is a receiver on the fan and will be a control board there.

Is there a switch up by the fan that I might be missing? Still doesn't make sense to me that after pulling the control board, that it kept on running. I would have thought that would break the circuit.
