Also, should I ever need a trailer tow roadside, its the same install socket plus 4 simple Allen screws to remove it.
We really like our Andersen Ultimate.

I really like my anderson ultimate aluminum hitch. Works great and only 39 pounds to remove for a clean bed. Install or remove in less than 2 minutes.

I have used a gooseneck adapter(put on by dealer at purchase and NO voiding of warranty),a regular 5er hitch,& n0w use the Andersen Ultimate.I am sold on the Andersen and its the way I will stay.
There is a brand of 5er that comes from the factory with a gooseneck hitch and the frame is designed for the setup.I don't know the brand but was just discussed over on the GS forum.

The mfg that offers a gooseneck option is Open Range. They use a Lippert designed kingpin that accepts either standard hitch or Lippert's Bulldog adapter. The Lippert specs that Open Range adheres to calls for additional welds at the king box.
