I think it was $185/linear ft when I had mine done, so a little over $7K for the 39' of roof on my unit. I love it and will never have a conventional rubber roof again.
Insurance paid for mine (tree branch tore the TPO roof) but if I ever get another rig, it's going to be one of the first things I do.
While I'm raving about it, I'd like to point out that the next best thing I ever did to my rig was upgrading to EoH disc brakes. Both are money well spent, and must-haves on my future fivers if I ever upgrade.

The very best roof is solid fiberglass but I don't think any of the mainstream 5th wheels have those. From what I have read, TPO is better than rubber. At least TPO doesn't chalk like rubber.
As far as using a tarp, that sounds like a lot of trouble to put on. Certainly, storing the rig under cover is a great idea.

Depends on how you maintain it. I have one for sale in the classifieds that I have already done a bunch of upgrades to. I suspect it will last many years. It also has Azdel walls which eliminate delamination if there is a leak. New furniture, disk brakes , inverter, 4 6v batteries ...... and towable with a 3/4 ton gasser.

Very nice! I might end up doing that because I plan to be living in my 5th wheel and traveling all throughout the western USA. As far east as ND, SD, WY, CO and NM from north to south. I don't plan on going further east than that. I have no desire to see anything east of those states. So a LOT of hot weather, and a lot of sunshine, and cold weather in the high desert of NV/NM.

Knowing me and how I just rather pay people to do most of the work I will probably let one or two things slide until they become issues that need fixing immediately. That's just me. So my first 5'er is definitely going to be used with a price limit of $45,000. That will set me up in a front living space 5'er like a used Montana, Solitude, Cougar
