First Tow with new to us Ram DRW

Well it wasn't far just 20 miles up 101, BUT the difference of night and day. The old 2001 Ram 2500 CTD with small chip and RV275's pulled well but with 3.55's and a manual 5 speed trans, wasn't quick off the line. I knew the 5er was back there but never a scary moment, just knew it was back there.
Now the new 2016 Ram 3500 DRW CTD, pulled on to 101 north, and stepped on the throttle and we were very soon at speed. Ride much smoother than the 2001. I was very pleased with how it looks hooked up, looks to be at most 1" or so pin high, something I will likely not worry about.
I will say as much as it never bothered me to row gears, and the 2001 had a BD 2-Low, for backing, our new sight required backing about 100' down a narrow road and then turning into an angled site with trees on both sides.

Beautiful rig, and congratulations. The front axles have a disconnect like the 2nd gen dodges did. I’ve seen kits the would allow a 2-low ability like your looking for

When I moved from an 05 Dually to a new to me 2014 Ram 3500 I found that the rear of the truck squatted a little just like yours does... I use the B&W kit with a companion hitch... I had lots of room between the tail gate down and basement of the 5th wheel...

I was able to change the brackets on the Companion to change the location of the hitch to move the RV forward maybe 2".... this moved the weight forward and the squat on the back of the truck was reduced 50%...

Just a thought.. BTW the Laramie Longhorn was the best move we made.... wow we love this truck

Looks like it is hitched about a foot too far back to me.

That is my impression too. Move it forward a foot. It looks like you have lost
too much weight on the front axle of the truck.

Hitch is in the puck system, pin is centered over axle. Our 5er has a very long overhang, and I noticed when I cropped the picture the I didn’t take it level.
