Fishing poles

Has anyone figured out a good way to store your fishing poles? Have an older 5cer, no basement.

4 inch PVC fence post secured to bottom of RV is the best I've seen. You can add more than one and also store your sewer.

I've got three fly rods and tried to use all the storage areas but either they were to big and the rods rolled around or they were to short. I have made the PVC holders and they work great for loose rods. When we traveled to Canada that's how we loaded and stored all our rods. You have to have extras when you go deep into the woods away from stores.

The other day I was in our compartment that has our fresh water tank and several water lines and wires. It took me about 2 seconds to see that was a perfect place for the fly rods. I put a 5" round PVC tube in and secured it from moving with a zip tie. The rods in their cases fit inside the PVC. They won't roll around and they can be easily retrieved in their cases.

They are tucked into an area where nothing else would or could fit. By that I mean while there is an unused area I had found nothing to store in their that I could easily get back out. The rod cases are long enough so you only need to reach the front of the case to get them out. Even when I don't intend on using them I'll still just store them in the MH.

We've had this MH for two years. I put those rods in at least 2-3 other locations and didn't like any of the places. The spot that I found was there all along and I just never considered it. Look around your unit. You'll find some location eventually that will work. The round PVC idea is great. The holders can be made any size diameter and length. Use the screw on top. A 4" piece can safely hold 3-5 rods. You can mount the PVC just about anywhere using straps. The same for the 4" square PVC. I like the round because you can get the screw tops to fit them.

The PVC can be purchased in schedule 40. That is the thicker plastic. When you have a fly rod that costs $300 to $500 you want all the security and damage protection you can get. A 4" fence post I would not use. It's OK for sewer hose but not the fly rods.
