A good idea, i've seen many 5er pin box brackets with flag poles like that.

I just have to ask why? I've got better things to do than mount flags on my RV. There's enough crap breaking on them all the time, I'm not gonna try and find the weak link by poking holes for nothing. JMHO

The practical side of putting a flag there, is you wont run your shins into the hitch! Good Job! DR

For me It has to do with showing support for those who have served and are currently serving our country.

Currently have two grandchildren active and one reserve.

May not support the mission their tasked with, but support them 100%.

Being from Canada, we aren't typically as "patriotic" as you guys, and a lot less fussy about flags. I'm sorry I don't understand the symbolism the same way as you folks do, no disrespect was meant. The installation the guy did was very clean and well-done.

I was simply commenting that trailers in general are pretty flimsy. I don't like drilling holes and possibly weakening anything. Many 5ers today have very weak welds particularly on the front end and tongue/overhang areas. Adding bracing and metal plate wouldn't worry me as much.

The reason the plate is that large is to use existing holes.
