Forest River Riverstone or Columbus with the 1492 package

do you think the Forest River Riverstone is a higher end 5th wheel than the Columbus with the 1492 package?

In my opinion yes. Does it give you thicker walls, independent suspension, disk brakes, just to name a couple of things off the top of my head.

Yes Riverstone is a much higher end 5th wheel, in build and finish out. Columbus would be more of a mid level 5th. Our previous rig was a Columbus .. while it was a nice 5th wheel and better than most in the mid range price point , it was not a true high end Luxury rig.

Columbus cabinet frames are wrapped vinyl wood look vs real wood in the Riverstone, 10" I-beam in Columbus vs 12" Riverstone, Columbus has 2" walls whereas Riverstone has 3.25" walls, etc.

We researched the Riverstone 5th wheels in depth for several months . They are very nice RVs.

We just took delivery of a new Riverstone, and so far I am pretty impressed with it. We have spent the last few nights in it (just in front of the house just for grins), and I can already tell it holds heat well and doesn't generate condensation or have any drafts like the travel trailer we just sold.

I don't know anything about the other rig you are looking at, but so far it looks like Riverstone got a lot of things right with our rig.

Thanks for the responses, we are impressed with the Riverstone. there is last years model of a mid bunk with a desk rather than the pull out couch which we prefer for my better half craft room. It is at a dealer in our region at a reduced price because they don't make this particular model any more . From what I have determined it does use higher end products than other 5th wheels and standard items that are options or not available in other rv's .

That's the model we just got. 37REL. My boy loves the bunk. There were not many left in the county that I could find (maybe three) and I had a hotshotter deliver mine 2200 miles.
