To be able to run the A/C and other stuff at the same time you will need at least 3000 - 3500 watts.

I am able to run mine on a 3000 watt (it only has a 20A breaker on it) . I don't run the water heater on electric with it, but the A/C runs just fine on it.

Any 3000W and up will run the AC. Please do your neighbors a favor and don't buy a contractor type gen. Buy one of the invertor types.

Two 2K generators that you can combine together like Honda, Yamaha and several others work nicely as well. They are also lighter and easier to deal with.

I have a Champion 3100w. Runs one AC unit. Inverter technology. Very quiet. Well made. 30a RV plug. Good lifting handles. Wheels and folding handle to easily move it around.

Bought from Costco online with free ship to my door. I think it was $699.00 on sale. Readily returnable to a Costco store if it doesn't work out for some reason.
