we have a built in 6.5 kw onan LP , it performs perfectly...... except it flat goes through some fuel,
looking now to run a dedicated lp bottle for it or go with gasoline conversion.

With a 30 gallon tank, we can run everything in the rig for at least 48 hours continuously and, by using propane for the water heater and fridge, even longer.

Same thing over and over. When shutting down a gas gen. use Sta Bil gas stabilizer ( good for 6 months ) and no varnishing. That is mid 20th cent. technology , still good in the 21st. Is there a time warp Klinger??

Ken long time no hear.
How is the family there in Az.??

look here: same topic different thread:

Because of special needs power wise I did an extensive comparison of all three types of generators (we will have a good size solar array as well) the listings below are averaged between several prominent brands. 4,500watt through 9,000 watt
Purchase price in order lowest to highest= Propane - gas - diesel
fuel consumption = Diesel - Gas - propane
Fuel costs = propane - gas - diesel, when I did this study diesel was actually 10 cents a gal under regular gas but that was then this is now
based on running the generator 10 hours a week ( which would probably be the max for us most of the time less the diesel would pay for itself with fuel savings in three years over the other two who's costs would increase from that time on
I wound up purchasing a Kubota gl7000 generator which would meet my needs and it actually runs quiter than a honda 2000 which would not come close to meeting my power requirements. The purchase price is a bit high and it does weigh a bit but for the quiet and overall cost being lower I think we done good
