GoPower GPI300 Install

Has anyone installed a Gopower GPIC3000 in a 5th wheel.
I moved from a class A to the 5th wheel and can't deal with the limited power. The generator was so nice. I installed 6 Battleborn 100amp batteries, 4 solar panels and love them. Now I need to change to get the power to get to all the the plugs. The Pinecrest came with a 2000 inverter that barley does the fridge and one circuit. To have the chairs working we have extension cords on the floor. Not what the DW wants at all. They seemed to have wired one plug to the inverter. The fridge did not last a day with ordinal batteries.

Looks simple until I hook up the power into the existing panel. Some electrical experience but not in my top 5 things to fool with.

I can't seem to find anyone in our area Virginia to deal with the install. I thought I would tackle myself.
I looked into a generator and was told we were pre- wired which this unit is not..so much for the dealer info.
Any hits appreciated. The unit is a Vanleigh Pincrest 335 RLP 2020

Jim

A 3k will not run everything in your unit. You can just remove incoming power and install inverter lines. Run shore power to inverter. Just can't run everything or you will overload it. Most add a subpanel for this and just put circuits in there that you need to run with the inverter.

I understand I can't run everything 100%. I do want most and will balance what we turn on when. I do have portable generators for when I need everything.

I think I will keep looking for electrical person . I looked up how to run the sub panel and I think I could I will be better off waiting or at lease much safer.

Thank You

If you are not comfortable doing this, yes, hire it out. Not all electricians know inverters.

Iwould suggest you install a two pole double throw disconnect switch on the in coming power cable . the panel would get connect to the center , the inverter would get connect to the bottom and the utility power would be on top. you will need a second switch to disconnect the voltage input to the inverter from the breaker panel so when your running on inverter is doesn't cycle on and off . a WORD OR CAUTION , do your home work Inverters are NOT cheap.

Thanks I ordered the the gopower 3000 the Victron was back order till they can't say when. I will wait until we are on the road to find a place that knowns how to install and then travel there. I want it done right and by the best I can find. I tackle most things, but electricity I just don't understand. At least the fridge works on solar and the dw has her hairdryer. I will add battleborns until I run out of room.

I appreciate the advice.

Happy is as happy does.
