Ground control 3.0 install

Hi all,

I am going to install the LCI Ground control 3.0 leveling system on my 5er this Spring. I'll be doing it myself. In lipperts manual they say to install the main control panel (the one with the jack and auto level buttons) in the front compartment. I would prefer to have the controls more accessible from the outside. I am looking to mount the control panel inside something like https://www.amazon.com/JR-Products-L...rv+sewer+hatch this on the front of the 5er. I will probably install a weatherproof seal around the door.

Any thoughts or better suggestions?

Steve

Shouldn't matter where you mount the controls. I would think they recommend the front area so you can monitor hooking and unhooking from your truck.

Mine is mounted in the basement on the driver's side, at the top of the front wall. It's out of the weather, so it doesn't get wet if it's raining during setup. Oh, and it's behind a locked door, so thieves would have to be determined in order to mess with it.

No, it's not the same engine that had all the issues in semis.

Yeah, I was kinda wanting it accessible without having to open the compartment door if possible. Just not sure if I can make that little compartment waterproof enough. I have seen some from the factory on the outside but just wasn't sure about DIY.

If you get one with a remote, you wouldn't have to open anything. You'll love!
