No offense taken...

My point is simply that all rvs are castles to someone. There are a lot of good RVs, some are better than others but there's always one just right for someone.

Happy trails

I think you are protected by the 1st amendment. If you can think it you can say it.

Tetons are beautiful and I believed they served a market well. It's too bad the company didn't have enough cash reserves to withstand the economic storm.

I understand it was poor management or lack of on the "kids" part. They inherited company and took it under. They were also right at 200,000 toward the end. Not a big market for that price tag,

I can attest to the fact the older Landmarks were not to be held in high esteem. The poster who stated don't buy something older than a 2 yr. old Landmark had it right. Another poster suggested there is no way to tell if insulation has fallen down and not doing what it was intended to. There is an iPhone app that will act as an infra-red camera and will indicate places of heat or cooling loss. I personally would like to see spray foam insulation- it runs about $5 a sq.ft retail for a 3 1/2" wall so I should think a manufacturer should be able to do better than that. I for one would pay the extra-given the choice.

Can get in trouble with spray foam. I seen door frames bowed badly from spray foam. hate to see what it would do to an rv. Not saying it can't be done but can ruin the unit if not done right.

Last summer I was waxing my Redwood when a family pulled in next to us with a older mini-van and an older pop-up. This guy saw me looking over at his rig and he asked if I minded if he camped next to us. The fact was I was reminiscing of my 3 sons and I camping in a rig just like that many years ago. It was in that old pop-up that so much fun had been experienced.

I could have told him that my 4 G rated tires were worth more than his entire rig or that my Redwood has a 2+5 year warranty or I could have told him about my 12 inch frame or even told him about my $70,000 truck.

Instead of telling him mine was better.....we shared some laughter, a bottle of wine and welcomed his wife to use our luxurious bathroom.

I sure wish I would have measured his frame......funny, it slipped my mind.
One of the best posts I have ever read here!!!

Does your DW give you a jab or scold you?

Talk about being politically correct... I try and walk that line yet get accurate information out.

We were at the Omaha RV show a few weeks ago, and the Tampa Show, both times while sitting in a RV and total stranger couples visiting with us and I/we were asked about our thoughts on a particular brand.

I would try and qualify them what they planned on doing with it? FT, weekenders, and so on. I think it was at the Omaha show my wife gave me a jab because she thought I had said some negative remarks about a particular brand.

Well, I was asked and I gave as honest opinion as possible. DW thought I could have offended them as they be looking at Brand X as the RV of their dreams. She warned me not to do that in Tampa so I was even more cautious, but you know I look at it this way, I work very hard for my money and want it to go as far as possible. My interests are for others in the same manner.

I hate it when a sales person tells all sorts of stories and promises the moon when they know or should know it's a bunch of fooey.. I have heard some of these statements made to unsuspecting shoppers. So if asked, I point out good points and bad in hopes they will do their research and find out a little more on their own.

It's like this, when I walk in and lay out my expectations to see "Your Cadillac" don't walk me over to a Chevy Sonic and insult my intelligence with false propaganda. I was a salesman, sales manager for many years and I know how sales driven quota sales persons like to exaggerate.

So if I am asked, I share what I know and attempt to be as diplomatic as possible and not hurt ones feelings. But I have the DW to keep an eye on me just in case.

In the RV world I think there's a lot of false promises or wrong assumptions. I also think that every person when shopping for an RV has that one thing that just turns them on and makes them blind to all the other features. 3 years ago when I was seriously shopping for a new 5th wheel my "Gotta Have" were the disk brakes and full body paint. I really didn't care if it had a kitchen sink.....as long as it had full body paint and disk brakes. Funny my wife wanted that kitchen sink
