Heartland Landmark

We looked at a really nice 2014 heartland Landmark the other day seemed to be in great shape . I forgot to check while there , hoping someone can tell me . Are these suitable for year around use ? Plan to fulltime in the DFW area .

Their website says they are. I have no experience with them.

Yes they are one of the few Heartland products for full time use. May I suggest you go to the Heartland forum website and sign in as a guest and ask some questions of Landmark owners.

https://www.heartlandowners.org/content.php

I know several people who full time in their units. We full time in a Road Warrior 427 made by Heartland. Question which model is this unit?

If you buy this you can become a member of the forum and club. Once a member you can join a state chapter and attend some rallies. For example, the chapter around DFW is schedule to have a rally in November 12th to 15th at Onalaska, I think at the KOA there.

We have full timed in two Landmarks since 2011. Changed to a different floorplan. Join the owners forum and consider joining the club for lots of fun rallies all over the country.

It's less expensive and doesn't have the bells and whistles that the Landmark has but is still rated and warranted for fulltime use.

We have a Bighorn which is in between the Landmark and the Big Country. Very spacious, 42', comfortable and is great for full-timing. There's one item though that makes me wonder what the hell they were thinking. The supply line to the residential refrigerator's icemaker, and I think this may apply to other Heartland models as well. The supply line is 1/4" plastic tubing tapped off of the kitchen faucet in the kitchen island. It runs under the floor out under the wall slide on the opposite end from the fridge. It exits to the outside under the slide and runs exposed back up the underside of the slide and enters back into the slide behind the fridge. You basically have to blow out the line and not have an icemaker in the winter. It's the damnedest thing I've ever seen.

What many of us do is replace the plastic hose with a braided stainless steel one. Pretty easy to do.

Prior to the Tuscany we had an Augusta for several years

Nice coach but like all of them not for real cold weather

You will want two Heat pumps if not equipped

But how does that help with the possibility of freezing due to the idiotic path that the line runs?

Nice rig BUT go up on the roof and see if it is "sticky." Around '14 and '15 Dicor had a bad run of rubber roof. Not bad in that it leaks but bad in that the coating on the rubber deteriorates and gets sticky and soft. I would go up on the roof and walk around and see if it's gooey feeling. Good luck, otherwise great unit.

If like my Big Country the frig is in the slide, I think that's why it's run that way.
I do agree it's a problem waiting to happen.
