Help - Considering a Fleetwood 295 RKS

Would appreciate your insight! I’m new to iRV2 and looking for a 5th Wheel around 29-31 ft. Found a 2007 Fleetwood 295 RKS that is new (if you can call a 2 year old RV new). The local dealer bought it from another dealer going out of business. He is offering a 1 year bumper to bumper warranty. He has been in business for years and has a good reputation for standing behind his RVs. The price is 22.5 K and the RV has not been used. I know that Fleetwood has gone out of business and I’m wondering how well they hold up. Any insight you have would be appreciated.

There is a reason that a 2 year old trailer is still sitting on the lot besides the economy. Fleetwood has not held the highest reputation for quality in the industry. Personally I would pass. If you do decide to persue this trailer, look very closely at/in/under/around it for factory mistakes and misses that has kept it in dealers inventory for so long. If you do buy, I would not offer over about 18K unless it is a really high end unit. But that is just me. So take my advise with a grain of salt.

I agree with donn0218, there has to be a reason for a 2007 unit still on a dealers lot. There are a number of manufactures that make that same or similar floorplan and the price would be less. The price seems a bit high on that unit. Be sure to check out everything if you decide to go with that unit, get a copy of the PDI and follow it to the tee, just my opinion.

First, welcome to iRV2.

As soon as you buy it, it is a used trailer plus it is 2 years old. Check the value on New Car Prices, Used Car Values, New Car Reviews & Car Buying Guides - NADAguides.com Official Site and I would offer no more than LOW RETAIL in the current RV market. Truth be known, the trailer is probably really worth about $15,000 tops.

Also, Fleetwood is no longer manufacturing towable products, so it is now an orphan. Orphans do not bring as much money as do non-orphan units.
