Exclamation Help please Micro died...

We have an ADVENT Microwave # P90D23AL that stopped working this morning. I put something in it, closed the door and tried to enter my cook time. The lights/keypad blinked a couple times and "NOTHING" screen and everything went blank! Microwave is 6 years old.

I checked the breaker and fuses....ALL GOOD! I took out the screws and removed it from the cabinet to check outlet...OUTLET GOOD as I checked with wifes blowdryer and voltmeter...ALL GOOD there. So it has to be something with microwave!!!

Just checking if anyone knows of an INTERNAL FUSE or Breaker in the micro that I can service myself OR if it's DEAD and I need to REPLACE IT???

Just a stab in the dark BEFORE I ORDER ONE!!!

THANX FOR ANY HELP!!!

Its called built-in obsolescence.
Or crapped out. Buy a bew one but____ take out extended replacement and in 4.5 yrs bring it back for replacement. 98 % og stores do not question or test to see if is working. Best Buy and Lowes are the best[emoji12]

Hi Wundertaker, sorry about your micro issues. I've stripped down several micro's and never found a fuse or safety links. I would have noticed because I was salvaging the internal power transformers and removing wiring harnesses.
Reason for salvaging is to get the transformers, they have a high voltage output ,this high voltage I use to do 'wood burning' . An amazing process of creating lightening strike patterns ( arc paths) on wood surfaces.
So, my best guess is your micro is toast. Replacing components may not be cost efective.
Another side note about micro's. I just removed a 3 burner propane stove from my RV and replaced it with a 4 burner electric surface unit. Never used the propane stove oven except to store pots and pans. My Microwave is also a Convection Oven that I use for anything needing roasting. Including yummy pies. :>)

THANK YOU BOTH FOR YOUR REPLIES...SINCERELY APPRECIATE IT!!!

I pretty much figured it was TOAST...just wanted some experienced opinions, which you gave me.

Sad thing is, we're getting rid of this fiver ASAP.

Oh well.....thank you again...

HAPPY NEW YEAR AND SAFE SAFE SAFE TRAVELS!!!

We had one in our house die so I called the dealer / installer and asked that same question. " No -no fuse". So we scheduled a service call.
Blown fuse behind the control panel.
After a little chat they comped the service call.
Moral is - some definitely do.

I know nothing about Microwave Ovens. But our old JennAire microwave convection oven decided to quit powering on.

Using the internet about 10 years ago, I discovered a possible repair on that specific model oven.

I then purchased the door micro-switches ($6) from a local applicance parts store and switched them out. The oven worked for another 4 years.

Search the internet for your brand and model. Might be a cheap solution out there.
