High Pointe Microwave

Well, yet another appliance has crapped out. The microwave is dead in the water. Worked fine till last night when it tripped the breaker. I reset, the microwave is just dead. No lights nothing. I checked the outlet and it has power.
Is there a something in the microwave that could be reset? Maybe, hopefully? A new one is almost $500.

Hi Bill, I googled the High Pointe,,, Do you have a Forest River ? saw some negative comments about that brand. I did see one comment that there is a fuse inside near the power cord entry. No information about the type or amp size. Hopefully if it is a fuse issue it will hold when you replace it.
The PIA is you need to drop the unit to access the internal stuff.
Sorry about your problem. I depend on my microwave a lot. I removed my propane stove because of several reasons but one of the reasons was I never used the propane oven except for storing pots and pans. My microwave is a combo with convection .
Tell us what you find

I looked online for the same brand and found one on Amazon for almost $500. Went to Lowe's and got a Whirlpool with a 3 year warranty for $220.
Then after I installed the new one I read the replies to my post, took off the cover and sure enough there is a fuse. I thought that if all I had to do is replace the fuse but I went out and bought a new one, I'd be really PO'd at myself. Got a new fuse and plugged the unit in. POOF! This time it smoked. So, I'd say this unit is toast.
Thanks to all who replied and offered help. IRV2 site is so helpful, I've gotten so much help from fellow RV'ers.
Thanks
Bill

For what its worth to all who are having issues with their High Pointe microwaves, our Minnie Winnie 27Q originally came with a regular microwave but the Mrs. wanted a convection microwave. One was ordered for us and installed by the selling dealer, but the operating instructions were very scant and nearly useless. So she searched the internet and eventually discovered a Cuisinart model that was virtually identical to the High Pointe, including the keypad. And most importantly, had good downloadable operating instructions.

So, if anyone is having trouble with their High Pointes and needs technical information, try looking up Cuisinart.
