spring has sprung, grass has riz....etc etc

fifth wheel hitch is stiff and not wanting to open etc. I sprayed liberally with anti-sieze stuff like last year and eventually got everything moving properly.

I went through this last year, and had some problems throughout the summer as dust etc bunged it up. This spring is starting off worse.......so, the question is......

What does everyone else do for routine lube and maintenance of your hitch?

About every two years or so I disassemble mine and clean all the parts up real good. Then I put it back together using Reese On The Ball lube, a thick and tacky oil that stays with it for a while.

Mine doesn't get exposed to the weather very much, the truck is usually garaged and when outside I have a Pace Edwards tonneau cover to keep it from being exposed.

If mine gets to the point where the jaws are sluggish to open fully, I'll pull the pins they pivot on out and clean them and grease them with some lithium based grease...

I too use lithium grease to lube the parts. Like Hitchhiker, my hitch is somewhat out of the elements due to a tonneau cover.
