I do hope you realize speed limit is just that the max you can go not the minimum. Also there are a lot of ST tires that are only rated for a max speed of 65MPH. So you are suggesting that they travel above their tire ratings and just go ahead and go 75. Now are they safer traveling at 55 then you are doing 75 while your are around 5000# over you towing rating of the truck and over you truck payload. There is nothing that states anybody on the freeway has to do the speed limit but they are supposed to be above the minimum. The ones that almost run into the back of the ones that are going slower are the ones that are at fault not the ones that are ding 55. This is a case of people not paying attention to what is happening ahead of them and run up on them to fast almost causing a wreck. Also most of them that run up on the back are doing 9MPH over the limit because we know that is what everybody does. The only time when in my car and it bothers me is when they are in the fast lane and not passing anyone then they are wrong and should pull over and let traffic flow. Lets put blame were blame lies.

Like stated before when you come on here people are going to make recommendations not all ways what you want to hear.

OK here you go, You don't need a new hitch there is all ways extra capacity built it you know engineers do that on everything. Sure you can tow the 5er you can tow the it at 90 MPH with a truck that is WAY OVER its capacity.

Please heed the advice here and keep your family and mine safe on the road, If you need to travel 75 leave a day earlier and and travel a little slower.

My advice FWIW

I was going to post the same thing. Why ask a question if you're just going to ignore the answers?

Bottom line, if you go over your weight limits, you're asking for a bad time. If you get into an accident, you could be liable.

To be fair, the OP only asked about the hitch, I was the one who raised the issue of his TV (since I own the same truck).

Fair point.

OP was asking if his hitch was enough, which it isn't and we all just jumped on him saying the truck is also not enough. Then he replies saying he knows he's overloaded on the truck so why worry about being over on the hitch as well?

Just seems like an odd question.

If the OP doesnt care about being over weight why worry about the hitch at all.
