Hooking up 5ver with a Bacflip G2
I have a 2016 Ram 3500 long bed and installed a Bacflip G2 folding bed cover. Prior to installing the cover hooking up was a breeze, now the Bacflip prevents me from seeing the pin & hitch so lining it up requires the wife to be my eyes. Been pondering the issue, have a few ideas, marking the cover and pin box to line up will help. I know I know, should have bought the cab back up camera option. I have the eyeball back up camera, going to see if I can use it.
Thanks for any ideas.

I've been looking at these covers for my truck also. Are you having trouble with it folded on top of itself with the last section flat? Or are you folding it all the way up against the rear window?

same boat
thanks for the question .
I'm in exactly the same predicament. Really like the back flip ... but seeing the 5th wheel with the last 4th of 4 sections un-flipped is not possible and of course 4 of 4 is doubly impossible.
Waiting for the answer.

The easiest way I know of is to mark the center of the rear window (if there is not a center bar there now) and line it up with the pin looking in the rear view mirror on the windshield. Just before the pin goes out of sight stop and get out to look to see how everything is lining up. Once you get out to physically look at everything then you know how much more you need to back up. Do this a few times and it gets to be second nature and quite easy.

I have a BakFlip on my truck and had the same problem. I put a piece of red electrical tape across the center of the whole width of the section that blocks my view. I line the tape up with the center of my pin box and rarely miss. I do have to make adjustments to the height on occasion but I had to do that before I had the BakFlip.

Welcome to the forum.
I can't really speak to the extent your folded cover blocks your mirror view. I chose a rolling RollBak G2 cover for just that reason.
I have however seen many haulers having great success using a traffic safety cone set in the center of their bed / tailgate while backing toward the pin. A strip of reflective tape over the pin can be helpful also. YMMV.
Best of luck.

Folding 3 flat, as is the 4th panel. The 4th panel (as well as the other 3) leans against the cab of the truck for more bed access but completely blocks the rear window.

For anyone that doesn't have a Bakflip already, Foldacover has one with four sections that folds flat below the window. However, it has no option to flip up against the window. I can see my bed with it all the way folded up with no obstruction.

I have the Pace Edwards Full Metal Jack Rabbit retractable cover and a cargo camera - easy peasy.

If you have the usual mirror on the front of the fiver, you can use a piece of tape down the middle of the bed. Line the pin up with the tape, back it right into the hitch.
