How do you remove a True Induction cooktop?

My friend has a 2016 Heartland 5th wheeler. Her two burner cooktop has a noise coming from under it that sounds like a noisy fan. It is ceramic or glass and sits down in the counter top. The ceramic or glass part sits up about 1/4 inch all the way around. She tried pulling up on it but says it feels like there may be clips or glue holding it down. She doesn't want to break the top by prying on it. Does anyone know how Heartland mounts the True Induction cooktops in the 5th wheelers?

Has 2 cooling fans on underside
Adhesive foam tape secures it to counter top

Any access from underneath?

Adhesive foam tape will be quite strong in the aggregate, like if you tried to lift the whole cooktop. But it should yield easily to a narrow tool like a thin metal putty knife, since you’re only working a very small area with it. She should be able to work the putty knife around the perimeter to cut the foam and not damage the counter.

Once it’s out, it can be cleaned up with the putty knife and/or some solvent for reinstallation. Just test the solvent where the test patch won’t be seen, especially on the counter top, in case it damages the surface (wrong solvent).

I just replaced mine with propane. They told me it was very possible to break when they removed it.

Different double-sided tapes have different adhesive. "Goof-Off" worked for me on the tape I had. Your Mileage May Vary.......

What model propane cooktop did you install? Did you have to do any modifications to the countertop?

I had them install the same one that was the propane option. Furrion. They did have to cut the countertop but that was to add the oven vent. The cooktops have the same dimensions if I remember correctly.
