I think I first saw that video 7 or 8 years ago and have never seen another one like that. I have seen folks in all kinds of vehicles run into canopies, bridges etc. Rarely are there injuries but I would suspect there were in this video.

I have read on other forums that driver and passenger had only minor injuries.

"At approximately 3 PM, Tuesday, July 2, a 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 pulling a new travel trailer, hit the corner of the Texas State Bank Drive-In on Tenaha Street, causing the complete awning to come to the ground. Luckily, the driver of the Dodge, Mickey Miller of Garrison, and his 10-year-old son were able to exit their vehicle uninjured. According to Miller he was circling the bank to park on the other side when the corner of his travel trailer caught the corner of the bank awning. Next thing he heard was a rumble as the awning started falling against his driver’s side door. Somehow he was able to unbuckle the seat beat and exit the other side of his truck as it was falling. Mark Ivy of Texas State Bank stated that the main lobby would be open for business while the drive-in is being repaired."

hmm
long long ago when I was young I was sitting at a red light and there was a gas station on the corner across from me. Someone with a huge trailer cut it too close pulling away from the pump and broke the above ground part of the pump off at the base and I saw nothing but gas vapor heading for the sky. I knew my life was over, if any flame or spark and the corner would of been gone.

I've watched that video many times over the years but just noticed all the bouncing this time right as he hit the awning - the rear suspension on that thing looks like a marshmallow..... is that a 1500 truck pulling that monster 5th wheel?

While for a moment the truck is supporting the whole corner of roof.

I had a airport shuttle driver jam his van under a hotel canopy when he dropped me off in New York a few years ago when I was in the airline business.
Never stuck around long enough to see how they got it out....it was really jammed and threw us forward pretty hard.

We have a low Railroad bridge (8') near our town on a side street that is hit several times per year (never by a fifth wheel that I've ever seen). There are all kinds of warnings including blinking lights, and people still drive box trucks, sprinter vans, vans with ladders on top, and many other configurations under it only to find they can't fit...crunch. Usually takes several hours to get the vehicle out from underneath.

A few weeks ago I pulled into closed business parking lot to make calls. I see a semi cattle semi turn left onto road. (From angle road, to side road with angle). There is a red Chevrolet pickup ready to make left onto major road. The semi turned like he was a pickup, no trailer. The red Chevy backed up HARD.
I was laughing, had to stop call.
