I just got a new Cedar Creek that the brochure says is 13ft. How are you guys measuring once attached to your truck?

The unit is sitting on level ground (no slope) and is level per the Auto Level feature of the 6-point leveling system with all legs down.
That would be to the rear A/C unit, I believe, which is standard for my year of trailer. In 2016, the front A/C which is a low profile 13,500 BTU unit is 13'-6" as measured to the ground is an attachment. I put a straight edge on top of the front A/C and drop a string down from that to the ground. I than measured the sting length. So, the dimension in my broacher does not include attachments.

We're 13'4" high. For fun, I had my cousin, who is a land surveyor, measure it with this fancy electronic gear, so the number if pretty exact.

Our brochure states 12' 3". Then you read the fine print......Not including optional 2nd A/C. I always measure on flat ground with 5vr attached to truck and landing gear up.

Ours is 12-8 at the highest vent cover.
No interesting stories to be told. At least not yet and hopefully never.
I put a label on the dash with the height and also on the top of the pin box (a 5th wheeler) just as a reminder what the height is. The numbers on the pin box are just standard house number stickers.
We have traveled only in the west so far and there's not a lots of low bridges, etc out here. Pay attention to service station roofs. But since we normally fuel in the RV or truck lanes, height is not really an issue there.
