I only needed another year!

I'm buying a new to me dually by this time next year. But I just went out to hook up our 5ver for a few days out at the coast, and my 16 year old Reese Lil-rocker broke. It happened last February in Quartzite and I thought I fixed it. So I couldn't find just the head assembly, but I was able to order this
https://www.etrailer.com/Fifth-Wheel...s/PS30093.html

They say it will drop right into the existing rails in my truck, Not a bad price to get us by until we buy a new truck. Anyone have any experience with this product. I need it to get us to Washington state a couple of times, before I sell the truck. Free shipping but for $14.00 they guarantee I'll have by Monday next week, not bad.

I pulled with a Pro slide locker for several years with no real problems.

It did feel to me that the slide didn't hold the pin as tightly as a set of jaws would so there was some fore and aft movement along with the associated sounds.

I finally ran across a new head unit with jaws for sale on Craigslist and replaced the slide locker, a world of difference.

But the bottom line is that as long as you're under specs for that hitch, you'll be fine

This is my 4th year with a Pro Series hitch. No problems and it will fit any standard rails. When I bought my diesel 18 months ago it had rails and before I signed the papers I made sure it fit. Even better than the rails I put in originally. I also agree that the slide could be tighter.

Thanks everyone, I should have it Monday. They say it will drop right in my existing rails. When we decide on a dually it will have the PUCK system. I'm currently rated 15000 lbs. with LiL Rocker, and we are okay on the weight. Just didn't want to have to replace the rails, and don't want to tow with a piece of junk for a year. But it sounds like this should get us by. I'll let you know.

Wish I would have known, I tried a search just for the head replacement, but could not find one, and they don't sell them new. Where are you at now Bob? I saw you last February in Quartzite. But I know your not in that oven now!

Yeah your stubborn like me, holding on to that Dodge forever. I've had my Ford for 18 years, I'm only going to the dually because I'm going to build a rack over the cab to haul a side by side, wife doesn't want a toy hauler. We were looking at new trucks a few month's ago, but it's so hard to let the old Ford go. It's only got 196,000 miles on it!

Well the hitch came today, I put it all together and it is a nice fit in my existing rails. The 4 bolts with castle nuts were about half the size of the Reese's bolts. But both hitches are rated 15,000 LBS. No chucking, it seems good. It was a nice easy fix, with a good Company to buy from. Now I'll take a picture of the old one and post it free for parts on Craigslist and I'll bet it will be gone in one day. Going to the ocean on mothers day for a week, Can't wait!
