Inside paneling ruined due to water leak.

Looking at what there which is birch plywood that has been mostly glued on the studs I have to replace it. I found a nice wood panel made from the same stuff there is also a more inexpensive product made of what appears to be "Masonite" on the back and faced on the front with what appears to be vinyl with a design. I'm planing on using "Liquid Nails" as the glue. So this second product made of Masonite is cheaper but a nicer design. But I'm wondering about the adhesion of the liquid nails to this product. The wood would be better just because of the porous nature but the other has a smooth surface on the back.

Ceiling. It's covered in vinyl and I'd like to paint it. Any ideas for a product to use?

Many thanks.

Liquid nails will stick to 'masonite' just fine. On the ceiling, you will have to find a way to brace it tight to the ceiling until the glue sets.
