This is the design Mine will be basically patterned after:
Autoflexsuspension.com
They offer the system for a tandem, 10-14K lbs for $3895 CDN +shipping+ install. Sounds pretty expensive to me. But they have alot of overhead im sure.

I beleive I can build the same kind of system for around $1500 USD, not counting my labor. That is including compressor, tanks, bags, control valves, plumbing, bushings, and steel. I will be reusing my axles.

I am interested in how you fabricate it, so please post pics when you are done.

Oh I plan on a complete write up and pictures during construction and installation, figure its a mod many would be interested in seeing.

Maybe it might even be worth a patent and production.

Roosters 67,
I did mine on a 30k 2yr old truck, it shouldn't effect your engine or transmission warranty.
I used the Airlift Road Link system, although they don't offer it any more, there are other companies that do for under $3k. I am just under 13' as it is, and I didn't want to go any higher.
I am not against what you are doing, just trying to give you an alternative.
Frank

Have you checked your overall height after the 3" lift? Could be critical. Also I have serviced R/V trailers of all types off and on for over 35 years and have never seen one that could not be leveled with adjustments in the pin box and or hitch. I would be very interested in seeing how yours is set, what is the clearance between the box sides and the trailer? I do like your idea of an air suspension though. If you do tow with the 3" lift be very cautious of any sway or sharp turns as your 5'er could be unstable, I have seen several instances of 28ft pup trailers that were loaded with a slightly higher load center flip even at low speeds, 3" can make a lot of difference.

For now I have Installed a three inch lift, in the form of billit aluminum blocks. This method will induce greater torsional loads to the springs during braking and increased side loads during turns, increasing with the severity of the turn. This is understood and the suspension will be inspected more often and is only to be a "temporary" fix.
Suspension lift blocks on a multiaxle trailer isn't a good idea or a safe idea. As you mention your pushing the axle components/wheels/tires/hanger attach points/stress on bearings well beyond their design limit.
Just one reason axle makers and trailer makers don't offer lift blocks as a option.

Doing your own design and fab is ok but its best to stick with conventional practices. Lift blocks work great for single axles or axles at the corners but with multiaxles in the center of a tall heavy box is apples vs oranges..
Nice work though.
