"Dry weight" of ours is 21000, Loaded we are 24800. BUT we are under all weights... With 3 trailer axles, actually, MorRyde IS suspension, all axles are 8k units for a total carrying capacity of 24000 lbs. We have 19k or so on the tires, and a little over 5k pin.

specs on brochure are generic to the model. specs on label are actual build specs so probably correct.

So, GVWR - true dry weight including options = CCC. How much CCC do I need to ensure to reserve? I know that depends on how much stuff I add, but what is an adequate safety or comfort zone? Since I have no experience with this, give me an estimate.

We're full time, and we've determined that we need at least 3k. To add solar and larger battery bank and travel with water, 4k.
For a person that's camping or taking trips, I'd assume 2k would work. I wouldn't want to go lower than that. 86 kilograms = useless, IMO.

It is a "joke" how some manufactures cook the books. It is concerning the number units on the road full of stuff and way over weight.

Are there FW's that you can add 4K to and not exceed GVWR and with only 2 axles? If you have to go to 3 axles, I would never own it.

There are, you just have to pay attention to options and floor plans.

Just out of curiosity, why so averse to a triple axle? If you're ever off the pavement, they spread the weight and don't dig in as much.

One of the first things is to look at are the axle sizes they use. Next the tire max capacity. They could have used a pair of 4000 lb's but went the "Full Monty" and used two 5200's.
Had a buddy who found after much investigation ( and aggravation) the axles and tires put on his new RV trailer where under sized for even what his CCC sticker said. Trailer had to be hauled back to factory for heavier axles / tires to be swapped out.
My new ORV (Timber Ridge) was one of the selling features I was first attracted to. 3395 of CCC. And it's MorRyde 3000 suspension.
I have seen smaller RV travel trailers well under 1000 lbs of CCC stated in their brochure. Add in added on options and your not left with much cargo cap.

No, not a joke. And maybe the owners that don't know they are over? Maybe if they had to pass a test to prove they understood weights and ratings before they could tow anything manufactures would use more seasonings because they would have to eat them.

I'm not really sure about that. I have never pulled a tri-axle RV. Rolling straight, yes the load is spread, but as soon as I start to turn I want to lift one axle to keep drives from spinning.

I've towed both, and the triple axle towed fine. They turn and back a little different, but easy to adjust.

Aknavy,
The Riverstone 34SLE ccc is 4885 according to FR's website. While it's a little shorter 38' looks to have plenty of storage, etc. One of the things we liked about that model is the fridge is not on a slide. Had the dealer been more negotiable on price we would have drove the 9 hrs to go look and probably would've purchased.

Yeah, I saw that floorplan/capacity, but I don't like the entertainment center placing. We both work online, so some furniture needs to come out to accommodate our desks. Currently, we ditched the dining table and one recliner in our current setup, and that leaves is still pretty liveable. I don't really see that happening with this floorplan.
