Keyless entry issues/questions

I've recently purchased a 2012 Salem Hemisphere 346QBUD. Trying to get the keyless entry system to work. Right now there is no sound (beep) or backlight to the keypad (not sure if there should be on this one). Looking for some general guidance on testing and troubleshooting options.

I've checked the Forest River website but the latest manuals they have are for 2015+. All available material I could find on that site points to the HDC008-B for keyless entry but they must have switched vendors or mine is an older model. There are no markings on the unit that I can use to identify the model.

I've removed the backing plate to the door latch to check for batteries but nothing. There are two contact switches at the bottom corner of the door trim which I assume are used for powering the unit.

Any guidance is appreciated.

Looks like a Trimark. Their tech support is excellent. I'm sure all of them are OK, but I always ask for Kevin.

TriMark it is! Thanks!

I've located the model info. It's a TriMark 540-0125 e-PAD Power Keypad

https://www.trimarkcorp.com/sr/zPlat...categoryid=173

Now to just narrow down the source of the problem. I guess I'll start at the contact pins in the door frame and work my way through the system. From what I can tell so far I think the receiver unit is sealed in the door and I haven't had the opportunity to try and get to it.

The backlight and beep have nothing to do with the door contacts. The door contacts are powered from the control unit or a separate relay, depending on the age of the unit, and just actuate the door lock.

The pad should be backlit after any key is pressed. I'd look at power to it and the control unit first. Trimark has all their manuals online, which can help a lot!
