King pin 5th wheel lock, curious if anyone uses one

I am waiting for our Amplock u-lpcvr king pin lock to arrive this week and was curious if others used any kind of locking system or if not, why? We have a few years before going full-time and while camping during the week there's times when the wife and I are not at the camper for extended periods, job(me) shopping(her) lol. I understand that nothing is going to stop a theft 100% of the time except perhaps some coaxing from my Springfield, but when we're not there I am hoping it'll be a deterrent to look somewhere else. We stay in local (small town) parks, county and state parks. Curious if anyone has had any problems using a lock or if there are any cons to be aware of .... other than "don't lose your keys". Thanks for any insight.

I lock mine at the house just because. I have never locked it out camping. It can't hurt though. Just don't forget to remove it before hooking up. That will make a good day go bad quickly

I use a simple Curt horseshoe lock when the 5er is at the storage lot. I have used it once or twice while camping but I’ve never been worried about it when at an RV park. Knock on wood!

I have one, and I put it on, whenever I remember.

New in the box , never used it in 5 years. I guess it would be really someone who knows what they are doing , Its not 5 mins to move a 5th wheel with all the jacks down, slides out and power hooked up.

I have never used one. We are on 5 fenced acres and RV sits under rv port.

I use one when camping, going to install “hide a switch” (my own idea) for jacks so trailer can’t be raised or lowered.

I let my trailer get old so a thief would most likely steal the nicer and newer trailer next to me. Brand new, top of the line, I would lock it. If it gives you some peace of mind then it is worth it.

We use one when boondocking and leaving the trailer unattended, as well as in the lot at home when we are gone for long periods. I don't remember the brand, but it's worked so far.

We even use locks on the jacks and/or x-chocks when in dubious locations.

Never used one. Meet you neighbor as soon as your in, they watch your & you watch theirs. Everyone's gone at sometime and appreciates someone watching while they are away. We all leave things out, grills, chairs, propane tanks, how about surge protectors, I have never lost a thing.
