LCI 5th wheel leveling problem.

Gang,

I'm working on a 2011 Heartland Landmark 5th wheel trailer. The LCI Electronic Leveling is beeping and shows "Error = External Sensor". That should be the rear sensor but I don't know where it's mounted. The control panel is in the curbside basement door.

This unit hasn't moved in 3 years but this error suddenly popped up. Pushing "Enter" or unplugging the control pad doesn't clear it. My first suspicion is rodents eating into a wire. Secondly, this unit had floor repair a few months ago due to a WH leak. Depending on where that sensor is, it could have gotten wet or the repairmen may have cut a wire.

I need to locate that rear sensor. Any help is greatly appreciated.

My leveling sensors are in a black plastic box located in the center of trailer undernieth.

I'm pretty sure I noted my level sensor on my 2015 BH located inside my front generator compartment overhead.

You might try this reset procedure.

Best of luck.

I had similar issues and worked with LCI customer service to diagnose problems with my 2010 Mobile Suites. Ultimately we replaced the main control box, sensor and touch pad.

I found the main control box in the front basement compartment and went through the procedure that MtnTrek linked. No help. It isn't an issue now but when this traile
r needs to be moved the jacks won't retract. The installation manual saus the external sensor needs to be mounted "on a crossmember, in the center of the unit, even with or behind the rearmost jacks". I've crawled under and can't see it so that means it's up in the belly.

Did you work with customer service or technical support? The 2 techs I've spoken with so far are simply reading from the troubleshooting guide I have that says "repair damaged/shorted wiring". Since I haven't traced the cable, this could be the issue but it seems unlikely since the unit hasn't moved in a few years. Maybe a rodent attack.
