Level towing

Ok this is my first fifth wheel. I just picked it up this week. Today is my first time towing since I loaded all my stuff in it. It is nose high a couple inches and if if I change my Hitch or pin box height I probably won't have enough bed clearance. Any suggestions or am missing something?

A couple of inches isn’t bad. I tow a bit pin high and haven’t had any issues.

I'd check trailer axle weights and if rear axle is close to front axle I wouldn't worry.

I just recently bought a Drv mobile suites and my truck sits high tires etc but the suspension under the Drv has 2 sets of mounting points n it was lower to the ground setting so I raised it to the higher set of holes it’s a Morryde which got me into replacement of all rubber spring equalizer n shackles due to age n bronze bushings almost worn thru but it raised me up almost 3” tows perfect but just things to look at.

My owners manual says that a "slight" nose up position is ok. "Slight" is not defined. Tows great now that I have 17.5 inch wheels/tires.

Nose High.....

Pin weight lightened which can cause 'chucking'
Weight higher on trailer rear axle/tires which can cause overloading/wear issues
Absorption RV Fridge coolant can overheat due off-level operation
**with trailer hitched up ready to go place level on fridge and see how much off level it is

Go to CAT Scales and get weighed
1st weighing.truck/trailer combo
*Truck Front Axle, Truck Rear Axle, Trailer AXLE weights and Total

2nd weighing....drop trailer in parking lot and get truck weighed

With acutal weights you can calculate actual axle weights vs Axle Ratings, Wet pin weight, trailer GVW, GCVW etc

Hard to get just front vs rear trailer axle weights

Don't know if LCI Correct Track Alignment Kit is still available
Kit bolts on or is welded on and allows alignement of trailer axles/wheels

It also adds roughly 2" - 2 1/2" increase in trailer height
*which would put you closer to towing level

Check your trailer suspension........any adjustments available?
Shackles sometimes have different mounting holes and changing position can increase/decrease trailer ride height

So with a level inside trailer....just how much off bubble are you ?????
