Question looking for 50amp generator

I'm looking for a generator for my Montana 3750 that I can hook up to my 50amp cord. Lots of generators have the 50amp receptacle but only rated for 30amp. Is there some kind of adapter or a way to modify them for 50amp service? I'm looking at the Champion dual fuel Generator. Thanks

True 50 amps for an RV is 12,000 watts (50 amps X 120 volts X 2 (L1 and L2)), does Champion even have one that large?

Full 50 amp service is as has been pointed out 12,000 watts.

But most 50 amp RV's come with less than half that (Like 5500)
Yes you can adapt.. but the generator needs to be a 120 volt generator to adapt.. or you can split it (120/240) and watch how much power you draw But a 12,000 watt generator is ... Kind of heavy.

That should be enough for any reasonable needs. My MH has 8000 watt Onan Diesel, and it runs everything I need, including 2 A/C units. Is your question how to wire up a generator to the 50 amp service in your trailer? If so, it will require a special adapter.

OP states he wants a 50 amp generator, that's going to take at least a 12Kw generator.
Of course you can use an adapter but you won't end up with the 100 amps you need for a true 50 amp RV setup.

If you have a generator compartment pre wired for 50 amps install one of these. Rated at 58.3 amps with two 30 amp breakers.
