The milage in the pix was a reset for the return trip not a fill up on that trip I even lucked out and the 2 towns I go through I did not even hit one light all the way from my land to home

I have never run bio in my 2002 Duramax 6.6 dually and always tow with tow/haul engaged. Pulling 15k and run 9-11 mpg consistently.

Yes, that is what I thought. I have hit reset and gone downhill and at the bottom show 50.8mpg on the computer but that is not what I show people as mileage.

I agree. That's the only way to know your true mileage, and over a lot of fuel ups. I have recorded all my fuel consumption for the last 30 years, for business. Previously I used a notebook, now with Fuelly.com. Trip computers are always off on the high side. This is a screenshot of my F350 DRW. I entered it as a separate vehicle for towing miles only. The only deviation was the miles I drove empty while on a trip.

I must have an anomaly as my lie-o-meter is quite often lower than actual. Up until this truck I thought it was a feel good meter.

Right but you are not getting that for actual mileage or you would have way more than 119 miles left in the tank that your fuel gauge shows. With that mileage and your fuel gauge you would have near 200-250 miles to go until empty. You probably have 10-12 gallons left in the tank.

Now I see your point and can't explain that. Tomorrow I am towing from NC to PA 77 to 81 to 30 let you know how I do on that trip I am hooked up and filler up right now will keep detailed milage for that trip.

I just looked at the fuel capacity and it says 35 gal I have run it down to e and the milage left to less then 10 and the most I could put in was 27 gal I was thinking because of the DEF tank I had a smeller fuel tank

If you have a pre '16 Short Bed Ford, that tank has about a 28 gallon capacity while a Long Bed has about a 39 gallon tank. My last truck was not only a SB but a V10 gasser which meant at 7 mpg towing 12K (196 miles) I needed, for safety's sake, to plan my next gas stop as I pulled out of the current gas station. The current truck at 11 plus mpg towing the same 5er and 39 gallons (429 miles) means I can drive most of the day on a tank of diesel. The DEF tank is about 5 gallons regardless of bed length. 2016, no idea as to what tank sizes are, but are probably the same as earlier as the truck is virtually identical, frame, bed and cab. A 2017 - might be a different beast all together

My brother averages 10mpg with his 2016 F350 CC LWB dually. Tows a 41.5 foot Forest River.
Nice to see the new 48 gallon tank on the 2017 long wheel base models. Normally can use that much in one day.

Ok got 10.9 mpg today going 328 miles in 6 hours and 48 minutes. Will post exactly how much fuel I put in tomorrow when I top off and add it to what I put in on the way up

I get avg 11 when towing so that sounds legitimate there at 10.9.
