On recent trip we lost[?]one of the 3 glass panes and bracket on the bedroom crank out window of our '02 Lakoda 5th wheel. Short of buying a new one[$180.00 + shipping]any ideas? Thanks

Having been there... Done that... RV Windows are made of a Very Expensive Grade of Platinum, With 24 K gold insulators, and Diamond headed Srews..... Thats the only reason I can see as to why they are so expensive..... We were fortunate enough to not lose our frame, however the pivot points did break, I was able to locate a window from a Junk yard, grind..re-rivet and make new, after installing a new piece of glass. So maybe what I am trying to say is... Try and find a Bone yard that has RV's or at least a small assemblance of some. You can always take a larger window section and make it smaller, (providing the mounts for the Crank are the Same) I think once you get one apart you'll see there is not much to them.

Since you just lost the pane try a local glass
supplier. some auto glass co. also have other types and will cut the type and size you need.
I had a couple of glass table tops made that way
It might be best if you can take one of the other panes out to be used as a pattern.

I lost one of a three pane crank-out window while traveling. I located a RV service department for my brand of RV and phoned them. The service dept. said to come in and they would look at it. They didn't' have a replacement, I needed the entire bottom assembly, but one of the service techs said he could rework a salvage pane he located in the storeroom. He re-cut each aluminum frame piece to fit the opening, cut the glass to fit, fit it into my missing panes place. I think the RV place charged me about $60 for all that work, and they dropped their present work to help me. Anyway, this is an idea for you to replace your window pane. Or, you might locate your size pane here: RV salvage and surplus . As for the brackets(different mishap), I found some at a RV dealership's parts dept. They ordered them from an aftermarket supplier.

Thank you all for your helpful replies. We're kind of "off the beaten path"[by design]but I get the idea. Thanks again for the advice.
